WELS KIDS CONNECTION VIDEO
December Episode: This Christmas, Sam and Cole are thinking about gift-giving and our ultimate gift—heaven. Our first story tells us how a box of change can travel around the world. This box is part of the kids c.a.r.e. program from the Lutheran Women's Missionary Society (LWMS). Students fill the box with change. Then money from around the country is collected and sent to help children in mission settings. Last year it went to Mexico. This year it goes to Boise, Idaho, for their mission to Vietnamese children who don't know Jesus. If you’re interested in participating go to www.kidsconnection.tv for a direct link to LWMS’s kids c.a.r.e. program. Our next story takes us from chilly Minnesota to sunny Florida. Here future WELS teachers are sharing God's gift of Jesus with newcomers to the neighborhood. Finally, Pastor Tony Schultz is working road construction to remind us of the heart construction God does on us.
January Episode: This month we meet two adults who devote their lives to children. Meet Mrs. Goodlow, she drives a bus, cooks a meal, teaches a Bible lesson, oversees recreation, and disciplines—all out of love for her Savior. Mrs. Goodlow runs an after-school program for neighborhood children, many of whom have little knowledge of their Savior. She shares the love of Jesus through her words and actions. Next, we catch up with Cole . . . in the principal's office. It's okay. The principal is actually his dad, Mr. Weber! Find out all of the things a principal does in a day. It will make you appreciate yours more. Finally, Pastor Tony Schultz reminds us that everything in our lives is garbage when compared to the treasures stored up for us in heaven.

SCHOOL CANCELLATIONS
St. Luke's Lutheran School will once again this year follow the decision of Oakfield Public Schools and Johnson Bus Company for closing of school due to weather conditions.  School cancellations will be announced on the radio stations and on the TV stations.  Also, when there is a late start, the Kindergarten class for that particular day is generally cancelled.  Cancellation is usually stated as St. Luke's Lutheran School or Oakfield Parochial School.
GIFT-MATCHING PROGRAMS
Thrivent Financial for Lutherans continues to offer members "The GivingPlus Program".  The gifts through the gift matching programs are used to help purchase various classroom/school items.  Any annual gifts of $50 to $400 made by a Thrivent member to our school are matched by Thrivent Financial.  The program is open to all Thrivent members.  Additional information about the program is available in the school office.
